Subject: The Best Of The Three AUDs
This is by far the best of the audience recordings of the night with the SBD or the Matrix not sounding that great. This capture is closer with more definition
...
and less reverb. Excellent show. Hot and sultry with lots of "X" Factor energy. With 1981, this is a very under-appreciated year.
But the ending isn't quite as smoking as it could have been to make a stellar five star rating. I want to give it five, but it's more like a five with a "take a half step back" for the ending... 4 1/2 stars.
And I would have sworn on a stack of Bibles this tape was running fast from the manic pace right off the bat with Alabama. But the SBD sounds fast as well as the other AUDs. So this manic pace must be the actual tempo?? Jez, that's nuts!? It's so nuts, I had to reduce the speed of a few songs in Soundforge just to make them sound "correct." But the added pep in the rest of them makes for a really exceptional 4 1/2 stars.
